FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

For its tenth year the Ballydehob Country Music Festival will offer huge names in Irish Country music, a fantastic bar trail of live entertainment, and outdoor fun for all the family.

Ballydehob, West Cork, Ireland
Friday 2nd June – Monday 5th June, 2023

Dancing will feature heavily again this year with some of Ireland’s biggest country stars crooning the dance floor.

Louise Morrissey is a renowned Irish country artist originally from Co.Tipperary. She grew up with a love for music and began singing folk songs with her brothers before being encouraged by other country stars like Ray Lynam and Philomena Begley to pursue a career in country singing.

In 1990, in Zurich, competing against 14 countries, she won the European Country Music Gold Star Award singing ‘Tipperary On My Mind’, and since then she has continued to build her reputation with fine record releases. Her brilliant hits include numbers such as ‘Feelin’ single, Seein’ Double’ and more recently ‘All I Have Today’.

Performing with the Paudie Coffey Band, this will be Louise’s first time at the Ballydehob Country Music Festival and we can’t wait to welcome her to the village.

Joe Davitt heads up a young and popular six-piece country music band. Based in Wexford they are widely recognised all around Ireland and are renowned for their brilliant live performances.

Good fun and vibrant, they are masters at keeping the dance floor busy and are sure to provide great entertainment.

Louise and Joe will play Ballydehob Community Hall on Saturday 3rd June at 9pm and 11pm respectively. Tickets are €15.00 each.

Gerry Guthrie has fronted his own country band for over a decade and has toured extensively throughout Ireland. During recent years he has received numerous prestigious accolades, including ‘Best Country Musician Award’ at the Sunday World Music Awards 2014, ‘Performer Of The Year Award’ at the Irish Farmers Journal Awards night 2015, and ‘Radio Single Award’ at the Sunday World Music Awards 2016’.

Highly acclaimed and well-known across Ireland, he will play Ballydehob Community Hall on Sunday 4th June at 11:00 p.m. Tickets are €15.00 each. Supported by the Paudie Coffey Band taking to the stage at 9:00 p.m.

There is a free weekend bar trail with Stacey Breen, Eddie Carey, Shaun Loughrey, John Rafferty, Paudy Hourihane, Mick Ronan, Ger Deasy, Charlie Coughlan, Derry Kennedy and Martin Kearney, providing great entertainment in venues around the village, and there will be a western style wedding on Sunday 4th at 2:30pm at the Old Bank House.

We would like to thank our major sponsors Pure Cork and Cork County Council for their continued support, and also express our great appreciation for the support we receive from local fans of the festival.
