The last couple of years will definitely be memorable for West Cork artist Effie Neill, one of the rising stars of the Irish country music scene. Effie, who is from Ardgroom, launched her nationwide musical career in 2023 and she has been going from strength to strength since winning the Cowboys & Heroes singing competition in 2023.

She subsequently recorded her single Country Is Best, written by Niall O’Brian from North Cork, and the track has resonated with listeners exceeding 100k plays online. With exposure and support from The Hot Country TV Show’s, Effie’s audience has expanded as her voice is heard beyond these shores.

Effie’s rise has been swift but she always had a passion for music. Now 21, she has been singing from a young age, some of which she attributes to the love of music in her family. This year sees her mentored by Michael English as she performs on TG4’s hit country music series Glór Tíre.

We’re delighted to welcome Effie to our festival as she kicks off the dance night fun on Friday evening.
