The last couple of years will definitely be memorable for West Cork artist Effie Neill, one of the rising stars of the Irish country music scene. Effie, who is from Ardgroom, launched her nationwide musical career in 2023 and she has been going from strength to strength since winning the Cowboys & Heroes singing competition that same year.
She subsequently recorded her single Country Is Best, written by Niall O’Brian from North Cork, and the track has resonated with listeners exceeding 100k plays online. With exposure and support from The Hot Country TV Show’s, Effie’s audience has expanded as her voice is heard beyond these shores.
Effie’s rise has been swift but she always had a passion for music. Now 22, she has been singing from a young age, some of which she attributes to the love of music in her family. Last year sees her mentored by Michael English as she performed on TG4’s hit country music series Glór Tíre.
At the tender age of 14, County Wicklow native Jack Keogh left an indelible mark with his debut song “Dreaming of You”. This song swiftly climbed the ranks and still resonates today with over 2 million streams on Spotify.
Jack’s music is a heartfelt tribute to his idols, including Johnny McEvoy, Luke Kelly, and The Dubliners, while also following the footsteps of contemporary Irish singers like Mike Denver, Jimmy Buckley, and Michael English.
, officially launching the band over St. Patrick’s weekend
After being one of the most popular social dancing acts over the past two years, Jack made the exciting leap to performing with his own full live band. This bold move has allowed Jack to bring his music to larger venues and wider audiences, showcasing his evolving sound and ambitious vision with unforgettable performances.
We’re delighted to welcome Effie & Jack to our festival for more dance night fun on Sunday evening.
