Lurgan native Chrissy Mac grew up listening to country music at home. His granny liked to play Philomena Begley records and she used to bring him to concerts at a young age. Always a big fan of Elvis, he got the chance at the early age of seven to perform his songs on The Gerry Kelly Show on UTV. From there he got into musical theatre and performing arts before country music came back into his life.
His musical career has since rocketed, and he’s now regularly on the road with his new band packing out venues up and down the country. His single ‘Diamond Dreams’ proved to be a real gem when it reached the top spot on iTunes Ireland’s country charts as soon as it was released.
Chrissy and the band bring a fresh new vibe to the scene whilst sticking to their roots with a mixture of American & Irish country classics. We’re delighted to welcome him to Ballydehob and look forward to his performances as part of our 2025 festival Bar Trail.
